My favorite blog post of the year! It’s the Best of Weddings 2020 and oh boy what a year for weddings it was. None of us could ever have expected that we’d be wearing masks, social distancing, that live streaming weddings via zoom would be a thing.
But with all the craziness and the whole roller coaster of emotions, I look back on these weddings and I am so so thankful for the chance to even have been at all these weddings celebrating and capturing a momentous occasion in my couples’ lives.
Large weddings shrunk down to intimate affairs, we celebrated once to part with an air hug and a promise to reunite for the big party in 2021. I spent the first few months of the year preparing to miss three weddings due to our newest addition being due with 3 weddings all within days of my due date! Unfortunately, my couples were forced to postpone those weddings BUT that meant I’m 100% able to be present for their wedding days in 2021 with our little one being out of my belly!
Over 60% of my weddings were postponed until 2021 but I was able to capture my sweet brides elopements and micro weddings and I am so thankful and you know what, I think I really love micro weddings.
Even with the craziest year hands down, there was so much beauty and love and JOY! From a sweet cherry blossom elopement in Washington DC (such a dream!) to flying to Texas, an elopement in the Outer Banks, up in the mountains, to being close to home in Richmond VA, I enjoyed every single second of my 2020 wedding season.
Now please enjoy the Best of Weddings 2020! Grab your favorite bottle of wine, there’s a lot of favorites here 😉
I had so much fun reliving my 2020 wedding season picking out my favorites for this blog post. I had a LOT of favorites but each wedding holds amazing memories, so much joy and no matter how crazy it got planning a wedding in a pandemic, love never got cancelled.
Thank you to all the incredible vendors that made each wedding happen!
