Phew, 2020 is hitting us all really hard and I don’t think ANY of us could have expected everything that’s been happening! Greer and David had planned for their engagements at Maymont Park before all this happened and when the day came, of course Virginia had to throw in her own twist: rain and clouds.
Between the uncertainty of not knowing if we would be in a mandated lockdown here in Virginia shortly or when the weather would improve, we decided to go ahead and have their engagements! And boyyyyyy was it so worth it!!!
A little gray, a little gloomy but there’s always a silver lining. The tulips in the Italian Garden were in bloom and beautiful in color. Cherry blossoms were still hanging onto the trees (my heart was SO happy!) and there was greenery and color!
It was absolutely beautiful, despite the unknowns surrounding their session and I’m so happy to have spent some time with Greer and David, laughing and talking and hiking up and down Maymont to celebrate their engagement in these portraits.
And while I personally don’t enjoy cloudy rainy days as much as sunny days, that is David’s kind of weather! And the session was just meant to be since David proposed to Greer at Bluestone Vineyard and this was the same sort of weather when he proposed!
So without further delay, here are my favorites from their Spring Maymont engagement session!
I’m thankful for these two spending some time with me to create some beautiful portraits during this not so fun time and this is definitely the fun I needed lately. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that their wedding planning moves forward as planned and that in October, I’ll be celebrating their wedding day at Bluestone Vineyard!
