Where do I even start with this elopement? Just a warning to everyone, I’m going to gush about these two for awhile and I’m definitely not even sorry.
Normally, I first meet my couples over a phone call, zoom date, or in person at our local coffee shop or even at their engagement session. But I met Greer and David last December at Greer’s sister’s wedding! I was the photographer at her sister, Haley’s wedding and Greer was her maid of honor. I remember noticing how adorable Greer and David were and snapped a couple candids during the day. Then not too long after Haley’s wedding, I got a message from Greer! And needless to say I was beyond thrilled to get the chance to be her wedding photographer too!
She and David had the venue chosen, the date picked, plans were made. And then, well, you know. COVID happened. We managed to get their spring engagement session done before lockdowns took place and things changed drastically for weddings and for life overall! Months went by and situations were ever changing and Greer & David had to make the call to postpone their October wedding until next year in 2021. BUT as is the story for many couples this year, love was not cancelled. They decided to get married and elope with their families in attendance at the Bodie Island Lighthouse in North Carolina.
I was so thrilled and honored to be a part of their elopement and I couldn’t have asked for a better day! Saturday was THE most popular wedding date of the year and while it was gray and rainy in many parts of Virginia, Greer and David had a cool sea breeze, soft clouds and perfect weather as they exchanged vows at the Lighthouse.
The look on David’s face as he saw his bride to be coming up the aisle and the sheer joy on Greer’s face was so sweet and I am still over the moon. The way they look at each other and laugh together is the sweetest and anyone can see in their portraits the love between them.
I had such a hard time choosing favorites for the blog because I really couldn’t narrow it down! But somehow, I chose my all time favorites (there’s a lot, not going to lie) and I hope you love them as much as I do!
Honestly I’m just on cloud nine because of these two. So so so thankful I got to be a part of this special day and I cannot WAIT to celebrate Greer & David again in October 2021 at Bluestone Vineyard!
