VIRGINIA BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY

EST. 2018

Here’s my favorite wedding venues in Virginia for the most incredible portraits, coming from a Richmond VA wedding photographer who knows that not only should your venue be a spectacular place for hosting a wedding but should also have equally spectacular features for your wedding day photography.

Modern & Classic VMFA Wedding

It was an incredible day filled to the brim with stunning details. Luisa & Matt decided on March 19 for their wedding date and we were blessed with one of the most beautiful Virginia spring days I’ve ever seen for a wedding. Luisa’s eye for a classy and modern wedding came to life and I was blown away by the details and how her vision came together for their VMFA wedding in Richmond, Virginia.

They waited 441 days for this day. It was so evident on their wedding day just how loved they are by the people who know them and knowing them, you just can’t help it. I loved every minute of working with these two and it never even felt like work because it was just so much fun! It was truly my honor being their photographer and friend. Enjoy scrolling through my favorites from this gorgeous whimsical and colorful summer Old Silk Mill wedding!

Last Friday I got to meet Matt & Luisa at Libby Hill Park in Richmond VA for their engagement session and I have to say it was definitely one of the most fun engagement sessions I’ve ever done! The weather was perfect and it was a sunny day which made for gorgeous golden hour portraits! Luisa and Matt were so fun to talk with and getting to hear more about them and their sweet pets! Especially since their 5 month old puppy, Max, joined us for photos and I was over the moon!

For Brides

SIX MONTHS. Oh my sweet girl, where has the time gone? In a blur of a year, Emy’s somehow reached her half birthday and if I think about it too long, I may cry.

Six months of figuring out how to navigate the transition to two kids, breastfeeding, Emy’s quirks and personality with Luca’s wild toddler moments, plus wife life, house life, full time photographer life all in the midst of a pandemic. Phew! But through it all, my sweet Emy has been the biggest blessing and joy.

Since they had to postpone their Washington DC wedding, they found a new date, a new venue and pivoted their wedding day to Agave Estates in Katy, Texas! They asked if I could travel to Texas to photograph their wedding and of course my answer was YES! Keeping an eye on current events, and keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that another postponement didn’t have to happen, October finally came and we met in Texas for their beautiful wedding day (again!)

And boy, was I BLOWN AWAY by how incredibly gorgeous their wedding day was! Agave Estates is nothing like what we have in Virginia and I felt like I had landed in Spain and was spending the day at a Spanish villa. Their Agave Estates wedding was completely different from what their DC wedding would’ve been like but it was so beautiful and a million times better than I ever imagined!

I’m amazed over and over again at just how amazing 2020 couples are. Nobody anticipated a pandemic while wedding planning and each couple has shown so much grace during these times. Mallika and Zach first scheduled their wedding for early May of this year and had to make the difficult decision to postpone til October, hoping by then things would be back to normal. And well, things aren’t exactly normal but they were still able to celebrate and get married on a beautiful October day at Khimaira Farm in Luray VA.

She and David had the venue chosen, the date picked, plans were made. And then, well, you know. COVID happened. We managed to get their spring engagement session done before lockdowns took place and things changed drastically for weddings and for life overall! Months went by and situations were ever changing and Greer & David had to make the call to postpone their October wedding until next year in 2021. BUT as is the story for many couples this year, love was not cancelled. They decided to get married and elope with their families in attendance at the Bodie Island Lighthouse in North Carolina.

As crazy as this year has been with all the curveballs, all of my sweet MJMP couples have taken it in stride and have been so flexible! Stephanie and Justin are no exception, deciding to change their original plan for an October wedding to a sweet and intimate elopement on October 1st and saving their big wedding and reception for October 2021!
