For Brides

Their wedding was truly a labor of love and full of joy. Shirley and Jedi got married the first Saturday of September at Lake Fung’s Barn in Disputana, Virginia, on his family’s farm. Their wedding was the first wedding held in the new barn and I couldn’t imagine a better first wedding for this barn than Shirley and Jedi’s. Shirley told me she wanted a romantic Asian wedding and she delivered! From the red and gold throughout the wedding day, her cute getting ready outfit and details throughout the day.

Their ceremony was one of the most beautiful ones I’ve had the joy of capturing. You know it’s going to be good when the groomsmen are also the flower people, throwing petals out of their pockets (and they ALL understood the assignment, throwing petals with dramatic flair). Two of the groomsmen played two worship songs and it was absolutely beautiful, Shirley and Jedi also watered a tree as part of the unity ceremony.

I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for a wedding, their bridal party portraits were amazing and I cannot get over how stunning Shirley and her bridesmaids were! After portraits, Shirley and Jedi had a small Chinese tea ceremony and gave tea to Jedi’s parents and Shirley’s parents.

There was so much care and love that went into their wedding day and just so much FUN! Their very enthusiastic friends gave us a ride in a golf cart that went a LOT faster than I thought and rode an ATV back and forth just to bring Shirley’s bouquet for their golden hour portraits by the water. And it was worth it because I am obsessed with every single one of the golden hour portraits we got!

Finish the evening with dancing, fireworks and a sparkler exit and it’s a wrap on the most gorgeous September wedding day. I have a LOT of favorites so enjoy a look at Shirley and Jedi’s romantic Asian wedding day!
